Project Brief

KeRi designed a new Formulation R&D (FR&D) and Analytical R&D (AR&D) laboratory for the development and testing of male and female hormonal drugs, together with hormonal and non-hormonal topical manufacturing. Because the compounds are highly potent, the engineering centered on containment: protecting operators and preventing cross-contamination throughout the lab and manufacturing spaces.

MEP and process systems engineered for potent-compound containment:

• Engineering controls to prevent operator exposure to potent compounds
• Containment strategies to prevent cross-contamination between products
• Dedicated HVAC with appropriate pressure relationships for the lab and manufacturing suites
• Specialty laboratory exhaust and process utilities

The Challenge

Given the potency of the hormonal compounds, the design of engineering controls to prevent operator exposure and cross-contamination was the biggest challenge on this project.

Our Solution

KeRi designed dedicated HVAC with appropriate pressure relationships, specialty laboratory exhaust, and process utilities, with engineering controls to protect operators and prevent cross-contamination across the lab and manufacturing suites.
