Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)
KeRi Engineering is looking for a Senior Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer to lead the design of mechanical systems on complex institutional and public-agency projects. You will own designs from concept through construction administration, mentor junior engineers, and serve as a technical point of contact for clients and reviewing agencies. This is a senior, client-facing role for an engineer who is comfortable navigating public-agency standards and review processes and wants real ownership of the work.
What You Will Do
- Lead HVAC and mechanical design across new construction and renovation projects, from schematic design through construction documents.
- Perform load calculations and energy modeling, select equipment, and design ductwork, hydronic and steam piping, and controls.
- Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, and architectural teams to deliver clash-free, buildable documents.
- Manage public-agency submissions and reviews, prepare the required submission packages, and resolve comments through approval.
- Provide construction administration: respond to RFIs, review submittals, and conduct site visits.
- Mentor and review the work of junior engineers and designers, and support proposals and project scoping.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's a plus).
- Minimum 5 years of HVAC/mechanical design experience in an MEP consulting environment, including direct experience delivering projects for public agencies such as school districts, authorities, and municipal or state clients.
- Working knowledge of public-agency design standards and submission processes (for example NJ SDA / DOE, NYC SCA, and DOB).
- PE license in NJ and/or NY, or the ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, and hands-on experience with load and energy modeling tools (Trace, HAP, or IES).
- Command of applicable codes and standards: ASHRAE 90.1, 62.1, and 170, the IMC and IECC, and NFPA requirements.
- A track record of complete construction documents and specifications, plus construction-administration experience.
Senior Plumbing Engineer (Process Systems)
KeRi Engineering is looking for a Senior Plumbing Engineer with deep experience designing process and high-purity systems for pharmaceutical and life-science facilities. Beyond conventional domestic, sanitary, and storm design, you will lead the engineering of the clean utilities that pharmaceutical manufacturing depends on, from concept through construction administration, and serve as a technical lead on cGMP process-utility design. This is a senior, client-facing role for an engineer who is fluent in high-purity piping and the standards that govern it.
What You Will Do
- Lead the design of domestic water, sanitary, storm, and specialty plumbing systems across new construction and renovation projects.
- Design pharmaceutical and bioprocess utilities: high-purity water (WFI, RO/DI, USP), pure steam, process gases, clean compressed air, and hygienic process piping.
- Apply cGMP requirements and ASME BPE standards to hygienic and high-purity piping design.
- Produce riser diagrams, fixture and equipment schedules, specifications, and complete construction documents.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, fire protection, architectural, and owner process teams to deliver buildable, clash-free designs.
- Provide construction administration: respond to RFIs, review submittals, and conduct site visits.
- Mentor and review the work of junior engineers and designers, and support proposals and project scoping.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (Master's a plus).
- Minimum 5 years of plumbing design experience in an MEP consulting environment, including hands-on design of process and high-purity systems for pharmaceutical or life-science facilities.
