Middlesex College: Center I, II, III & IV
HVAC Upgrade
Middlesex Center I-IV, Edison, NJ
One coordinated HVAC design replicated across four identical buildings.

Project Brief

As Prime Consultant, KeRi Engineering designed a new HVAC system for four identical buildings (Center I, II, III, and IV), with split AC units, new boilers, pumps, and convectors, along with the associated electrical, architectural, and structural upgrades.

Each building received a new split-system air conditioning unit, pairing an outdoor air-cooled condensing unit with an indoor air-handling unit. New ductwork was designed to distribute the conditioned air from the split AC units throughout the occupied spaces, sized for balanced airflow and quiet delivery. New controls and thermostats were provided for each AC unit, giving independent, room-level temperature control and coordinating cooling with the hot water heating system of boilers, pumps, and convectors.

What We Engineered

New HVAC and associated upgrades across the four identical Center buildings:

  • New HVAC system with split AC units (outdoor condensing unit and indoor air handler)
  • New ductwork distributing conditioned air from the split AC units
  • New controls and thermostats for the split AC units, for room-level temperature control
  • New boilers, pumps, and convectors
  • Associated electrical upgrades
  • Associated architectural and structural upgrades
  • Delivered as Prime Consultant

The Challenge

Four identical buildings needed new HVAC and supporting upgrades efficiently, without four disconnected designs.

Our Solution

As Prime Consultant, KeRi designed a repeatable HVAC scheme with split AC units, new ductwork and controls, new boilers, pumps, and convectors, plus the electrical, architectural, and structural upgrades, applied consistently across Center I-IV.
