Project Brief
KeRi upgraded two existing escalators, ES113 and ES114, at the 161 St-Yankee Stadium Station and performed associated state-of-good-repair work. The upgrades involved designing a new electrical power system, distribution panel, new lighting, and new controls for the escalators.

MR # is the MTA master reference number for the station complex. Trains listed are the lines served by the replaced escalators.
The Challenge
The station's escalators and supporting systems were at end of life: an aging 208V / 3-phase electrical distribution system, fluorescent lighting on ballasts, battery-pack emergency lighting in need of replacement, piping without heat tracing, and an HVAC system consisting of exhaust fans only.
Our Solution
KeRi designed new escalator power, distribution, controls, and lighting to bring the station into a state of good repair while keeping one of the system's busiest stations in service.
