Targeted cooling for the critical spaces of a cement plant.

Project Brief

KeRi designed new MEP systems for a new Buzzi Unicem cement manufacturing facility ($20 million construction value), including the expansion of the condenser water loop to serve new water-cooled AC units for the offices, control rooms, x-ray room, analytical laboratory, clinker cooler room, and electrical switchgear room. KeRi evaluated the condenser water loop and designed a new water-cooled AC system with a waterside economizer.

MEP Engineering Scope

Silos and process structures at the Buzzi Unicem cement plant

What We Engineered

MEP systems for the cement manufacturing facility:

  • Expansion of the condenser water loop for new water-cooled AC units
  • Water-cooled AC for offices, control rooms, x-ray room, and analytical laboratory
  • Cooling for the clinker cooler room and electrical switchgear room
  • New water-cooled AC system with a waterside economizer

The Challenge

A $20M cement plant needed reliable cooling for offices, control rooms, an x-ray room, a lab, the clinker cooler room, and switchgear, all drawing on a shared condenser water loop.

Our Solution

KeRi expanded the condenser water loop and designed water-cooled AC with a waterside economizer serving each critical space.
