US Army Corps of Engineers
Building 685 HVAC Renovation
USACE Building 685, West Point, NY
A military building's HVAC rebuilt around a hydronic plant.

Project Brief

The design involved an upgrade of the HVAC system for the building. The system design consists of a hydronic system with a packaged air-cooled chiller, chilled-water pumps, chilled-water piping and appurtenances, and an air-side system with air-handling units and ductwork distribution with terminal VAV boxes and sound traps. The design included a new BMS controls system to control the hydronic and air-side systems.

What We Engineered

HVAC systems upgrade for Building 685:

  • Hydronic system with a packaged air-cooled chiller, chilled-water pumps, and piping
  • Air-side system with air-handling units and ductwork distribution
  • Terminal VAV boxes and sound traps
  • New BMS controls for the hydronic and air-side systems

The Challenge

Upgrading Building 685's HVAC at West Point required a reliable hydronic and air-side design meeting federal standards.

Our Solution

KeRi designed a hydronic system with a packaged air-cooled chiller, pumps and piping, air handlers with VAV terminals and sound traps, and a new BMS controlling both the hydronic and air-side systems.
